How is this medication given?

This medication is given by mouth and can be given with or without food. Never stop giving Enalapril suddenly unless your veterinarian instructs you to. Always speak to your veterinarian if you have questions about how to give this medication.
How does this medication work?
Enalapril is classified as an ACE inhibitor. This type of medication blocks the enzyme constricts blood vessels in the body. As a result of this medication, blood vessels dilate and relax which lowers blood pressure and increases blood and oxygen delivery to the heart.
What results can I expect?
Enalapril does not cure heart and kidney disease but it does relieve related symptoms which improves your pet's quality of life.
Results may not be immediate and it can take several weeks to see improvement.
